The highly talked about Unite Mzansi Unite Truck Tour, an initiative by Adidas, is coming to the district on 5-7 February 2010.

The Ugu community is urged to show their patriotic spirits to Bafana Bafana and pledge their support by signing the 60m X 48m giant Bafana Bafana jersey roving the country in support of the greatest show coming to South Africa this June.

The first weekend of February 2010 is set to be a jovial one for the entire district as this jersey will start at Umuziwabantu Municipality at Harding Sports Ground in Central Town. On Saturday, 6 February, it will be in Hibiscus Coast Municipality at the Shelly Centre North Parking area. This weekend will be sealed with another busy day on Sunday, 7 February at Umzinto Sports Field for the communities in that town and surrounding areas.

Ugu District Municipality's Acting Senior Manager in Mayoralty and Communications, Mr Lindani Mzotho said as the campaign is coming to the district for three days in February, Adidas will work in partnership with Umuziwabantu, Hibiscus Coast and Umdoni Municipalities together with SAFA Ugu, The Department of Education, South Coast Fever, Shelly Centre, South Coast Tourism and Upper Coast Fever to make this campaign a success in the district. "In support of this campaign and our national soccer team, we urge all members of the Ugu community to attend the signing sessions in their vicinities and pledge their support to Bafana Bafana and the country as a whole," said Mr Mzotho.

In support of this initiative, this jersey has already been signed by President, Jacob Zuma, Dr Danny Jordaan, Bafana Bafana player, Aaron Mokoena, Helen Zille, Lucas Radebe and Lira among other high profile South Africans, recording messages of encouragement to the team.
