The Municipality seeks to appoint suitably qualified person to the following position within the CORPORATE SERVICES DEPARTMENT:

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
Total Annual Salary R 226 893 pa

(Excluding Car and Cellphone Allowance)


Reporting to the Manager: Secretariat, ICT & Auxiliary Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following, inter-alia:
  • Designing, setting up, configuration, maintaining, changing, upgrading and supporting of applications and networking services.
  • Ensuring proactive System maintenance and administration
  • Software Maintenance and Support
  • Provision of efficient call logging
  • Ensuring smooth call management
  • Provision of basic telephonic support on software and printers
  • Installations of Hardware and Software
  • Provision of network support
  • Ensuring general IT administration and purchasing of equipment
  • Setting up relevant IT policies and procedures
  • Provision of IT support to all Ugu Branches
  • Provision of backup service to Technical Administrator
  • Performing network administration functions for the Municipality's interoperating LAN/WAN/WLAN, including the maintenance of network functionality and the installation, upgrade, configuration, integration and troubleshooting of network software and network devices
  • Assisting in the support of Enterprise Resource Planning
Requirements:
  • A valid Grade 12 Certificate
  • A valid Degree or Diploma in Information Technology ? IT and / or certificate in MCSE 2000/03/CCNA from a recognized tertiary institution
  • At least three-years experience within the IT industry.(It would be advantageous if such experience was obtained within a municipal environment)
  • Ability to think analytically, convey knowledge to others and to think independently is essential.
  • A clean Code 08 drivers' licence
