| Maintenance works to disrupt water supply |
| For immediate release |
| 21 January 2009 |
Areas along the District's coast, from Southbrroom to Port Edward and
inland areas such as Izingolweni, KwaXolo, Eshobeni and KwaNZimakwe,
which are supplied from the Umtamvuna Waterworks, will experience water
interruptions and low water pressure on Tuesday, 27 January 2009.
The Margate Extention 3 residents will also experience similar problems as the same works will also take place in the vicinity on Extension 3 on the same day. Explaining this predicament still to occur, the Ugu District Municipality Senior Communications Manager Mr Brian Dube said this interruption will be due to essential planned maintenance work to be carried out at the Umtamvuna Waterworks. "These areas will experience water supply problems for about eight hours. The Margate area will only have this problem for about five hours," said Mr Dube. Mr Dube added that after the works, higher lying areas in all the mentioned areas, may experience low water pressure later on during the day. "For all mentioned areas, normal services should resume by 28 January 2008. We therefore encourage all consumers to use water wisely during this period and we apologise for any inconveniences caused during the time." |
