The Municipality seeks to appoint highly motivated and suitably qualified persons to the following positions:

The following vacancy exists within the WATER SERVICES DEPARTMENT:

DRIVER OPERATOR
Total Annual Salary: R 74 998 pa


Reporting to the Area Technical Officer: Harding, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following, inter alia:
  • Performing specific tasks associated with the operation of heavy specialized mechanical plant i.e. Grader, Front End Loader, Crane Truck & Bulldozer and vehicles i.e. Tip Trucks, Water Trucks etc during water maintenance activities
  • Driving and maneuvering heavy mechanical plant and engaging controls to operate mechanisms to enable digging, loading, grading and leveling sequences
  • Controlling the utilization of materials (sand, stone, crusher run etc.) and discharching / offloading required quantities of materials for repair or reconstruction work
Requirements:
  • A valid Grade 12 certificate
  • A valid, clean Heavy Duty Driver's License and a valid Public Driving Permit (PDP)
  • A minimum of 2 years heavy duty driving and/ or operation of back actor experience
  • It is mandatory that the successful incumbent be of sober habits
