The Municipality seeks to appoint suitably qualified person to the following position within the WATER SERVICES DEPARTMENT:



DESIGN ENGINEER
Total Cost to Employer: R 553 252 pa (INCLUSIVE OF A CAR ALLOWANCE)


Reporting to the Senior Manager: WSA & Asset Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following, inter alia:
  • Application of professional knowledge of urban/rural design policies, applications and principals to comment and co-ordinate specific processes associated with the implementation, monitoring and communication phases of Water implementation projects
  • Planning and designing of water & sanitation projects
  • Participating in projects meetings
  • Planning implementation of contracts
  • Monitoring output and addressing deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings to improve and motivate consultants
Requirements:
  • A valid Grade 12 certificate
  • A valid degree or diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Three (3) years relevant experience within a comparable environment
  • The successful incumbent will be expected to work on own initiative.
  • A valid clean Code B drivers licence is essential
  • Proficiency in both English and isiZulu would be advantageous
