The following vacancies exist within the CORPORATE SERVICES DEPARTMENT:
HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER
Total Annual Salary: R 262 049 pa
Reporting to the Manager: Human Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following, inter-alia:
- Ensuring that changes to the policies and procedures manual are communicated to all departments within the Municipality and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Ensuring that the Human Resources Section complies with employment equity targets in the recruitment and development of staff
- Conducting regular staff assessments and ensuring staff development
- Evaluating the capability of prospective applicants and continuously participating in the interviewing and final selection sessions
- Facilitating the implementation of the Human Resources procedures, policies and systems congruent with current labour legislation and supportive of a world class Municipal environment
- Ensuring sound management of the administration of Employee Benefits within the Human Resources Section
- Monitoring staff mobility and ensuring that correct action and steps are implemented
- Advising and assisting Managers with recruitment and selection, conditions of service, training and development and employee wellness
- Ensuring that the processes and systems to improve workflow within the Human Resources Section are implemented
- Ensuring the alignment of Human Resources strategies and policies within the context of overall Municipal Strategic objectives
- Ensuring the promotion of sound Labour Relations and effective implementation of grievances and misconduct cases
- Ensuring the development and implementation of a retention strategy
- Managing the separation process i.e. resignation, retirement, dismissal, death etc
- Ensuring the administration of service benefits i.e. salaries, housing, pension, medical aid etc. are adhered to and carried out on-time
Requirements:
- A valid Grade 12 certificate
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management and/or a related fields
- Relevant experience and strong leadership skills, conflict management and diversity management
- A post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
- A minimum of 3 years' experience within the Human Resources Management environment of which 1 year must be at the Supervisory level
- Fluency in both English and isiZulu
- A valid Code B drivers licence is essential
- Computer Literacy essential (MS Word and Excel)
