The Municipality seeks to appoint highly motivated and suitably qualified persons to the following positions:

The following vacancies exist within the WATER SERVICES DEPARTMENT:

PLUMBER: METERING X05
Total Annual Salary: R 134 248 pa


Reporting to the Manager: Water Conversation and Demand Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following, inter alia:
  • Reduction of water loss in his/ her area
  • Repairing of standpipes
  • Inspecting works prior to commissioning and communicating with the immediate superior with regards to tests, adjustments and functionality of the installation
  • The maintenance of valves, meters, plumbing installations and water reticulation systems
  • The carrying out of connections and disconnections as per instruction and policy
  • The repairing and recording of water losses through leaks, breaks etc. and submitting reports to the responsible Foreman
  • Ensuring that vehicles, tools and equipment are kept in a clean and well maintained working condition
Requirements:
  • A valid Grade 12 certificate
  • A valid trade test certificate as a Plumber
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience as a Plumber
  • Experience within a municipal water reticulation environment would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in English and isiZulu
  • A valid Code B drivers license is essential
