At the special sitting of the Ugu District Municipality Council held today, 29 March 2017, the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mondli Chiliza was duly elected as the new Mayor of Ugu District Municipality.
The election of Cllr Chiliza as the new Mayor of the Municipality follows the sudden passing of the former Mayor, Cllr Tolomane Mnyayiza in December last year. Mayor Chiliza was sworn in, in the presence of his family, friends, colleagues, business sector community and the general community at large.
It is our view as the municipality that water is life and as caring water services authority, we shall continue to provide our communities with this basic human right.
