The MEC of COGTA, Nomusa Dube Ncube hosted a glittering Municipal Service Excellence Awards recently at the Durban ICC where the MEC duly recognised the selfless contribution of the mayor of Ugu District municipality Cllr NH Gumede for her selfless contribution to local government over the years.
Cllr NH Gumede was awarded with a certificate of Appreciation for Municipal Service Excellence. This award served as a stamp approval for her worship’s tireless contribution towards improving the lives of communities and for her diligent leadership.
This award follows a series of accolades that have been bestowed upon her worship, Cllr Gumede for her numerous strides made in leading the district municipality with diligence. Through her leadership, she has managed to build a solid foundation of financial and organisational sustainability at Ugu District municipality. And this has increased the municipality’s ability to improve the quality of lives of our communities through provision of services of water and access to dignified sanitation.
The municipality has indeed transformed into a mature but young adult
ready to perfect the art of delivering exceptional services to all communities.
